Known within community to successfully practice natural medicine that saved hundreds or thousands of lives. |
Music |
Established artist currently riding the charts. Established composer, producer. Pioneer of a genre of music. |
Theatre |
Publicly acclaimed actor, playwright. Started theatre company that fostered areas of black culture or promoted black culture in schools, communities nationally, regionally, internationally. |
Dance |
Publicly acclaimed actor, choreographer. Started dance company that fostered areas of black culture or promoted black culture in schools, communities nationally, regionally, internationally. |
Engineering/Construction |
Engineer, builder, architect who has left his/her mark on the earth for generations to see. |
Sports |
Achieved top athletic awards, compete in highest standard possible such as Olympics. |
Agriculture |
Pioneer of practices in cultivation and/or in animal breeding that led to significant increase in production of crops and/or livestock. Instrumental in helping farmers in use of irrigation, harvesting and storage, raising livestock and in soil enrichment. |
Education |
Innovator in curriculum development and/or instructional practices that have been adopted nationally/regionally/internationally. Recognized as outstanding, dedicated individual who has inspired, motivated, coached, and mentored students and/or fostered learning environments for young people or adults. Started a group, club, school, association that exists (or existed for many years) and made a positive impact in education. Members of communities attribute their success to that individual. |
Theology |
Highly respected individual for his/her ministry in the Christian faith that extends beyond the local community. Involved in missionary work, Christian education. Leader by example of Christian love, unity and peace and is recognized as such. |
Business |
Successful entrepreneur who started his/her own business that has now grown from its small beginnings to a bigger and profitable establishment. Could be providing employment for others. |
Law & Order |
Renowned judge, magistrate, attorney in the administration of justice. Outstanding individual e.g. policeman/woman in maintenance of law and order. Influential in maintaining law and order in communities through initiatives e.g. speeches, clubs and these initiatives have been adopted by other communities. |
Leadership |
Widely recognized for getting/taking action to get things accomplished. Has left a legacy of such accomplishments that exist or existed for may years. Made a significant contribution in effecting change socially/economically. |
